DALVAY BY THE SEA – In 1959, Mr. & Mrs. Raoul Reymond became operators of Dalvay By-The-Sea. Hailing from Geneva Switzerland, the Reymonds had left Europe arriving in PEI in 1925 to take advantage of the lucrative fox breeding industry. After fox fur went out of fashion they turned their energies to inn-keeping in summers and teaching music in winters to many Charlottetown families. The Reymond’s brought a European atmosphere of gentility and personal service to Dalvay that was unique to PEI. Dalvay By-the-Sea is currently operated by the Reymond’s grandson, David Reymond Thompson, who took over Dalvay when his grandparents retired in 1976. Additions since that time have included: fully-updated four-piece bath/shower in each guest room, antiques in each room and upgrades to the central kitchen facilities. Your Innkeepers: David & Michelle Thompson.
